The types of donor information that Cast collects and maintains includes:
- Contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address
- Giving information
- Information on events attended, publications received, and special requests for program information
- Information provided by the donor in the form of comments and suggestions
Cast uses donors’ information to understand our donors’ interests in our mission and to provide updates on the organization’s plans and activities. It is shared with staff, board members, volunteers, and consultants only on a “need-to-know” basis.
Cast assures donors that their names and addresses will not be shared with any third party unless permission has been granted. To the extent any donations are processed through a third-party service provider, our donors’ information will only be used for purposes necessary to process the donation.
It is our desire to not send unwanted mail to our donors. Please contact us if you wish to be removed from our mailing list.
Staff, Board members, and volunteers understand it is vital to donors and the organization that they keep this information confidential, as is detailed in the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice and A Donor Bill of Rights. All of our staff, board members, and volunteers read and sign a confidentiality policy agreement. Violation of this policy would be grounds for discipline and/or removal of the offending individuals from their positions within the organization.
